This blog is meant to record down all the food that I have cooked, whether it's the new recipe taken from Internet or from friends. Whether the food cooked well or not, or how ugly does the final result would be, or how disastrous the taste is, I'm determined to put it here just to see how much things that I have cooked. And would be my reference in the future.

Cinnamon Rolls
- 550 g flour
- 25 g fresh yeast , or 8.5 g of dry yeast
- 70 g melted butter
- 210 ml milk
- 75 g sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 200 g brown sugar
- 85 g butter kept at room temperature
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp milk
Step 1: Begin the dough
Start by adding the flour, the yeast, the sugar, the salt, the eggs, the milk, and the butter into the mixer. Mix the ingredients on low for 5 minutes until it becomes shiny in appearance. Add about 2 Tbsp more of flour to the bowl and turn off mixer. Now scrape the dough from the hook.
Step 2: Knead and let the dough rise
Put a little flour inside the bowl and also sprinkle some on your work table. Now knead the dough briefly. Add a little more flour to the bowl and sprinkle a little onto the dough. Return the dough to the bowl. Cover it and let it rise for about 1 hour or until it has doubled its size.
Step 3: Make the filling
While the dough is rising you can place into a bowl the brown sugar, the cinnamon, and the butter and mix with a spoon until combined. Now set it aside.
Step 4: Preheat oven to 185°C
You can now set the oven to 185 degrees Celsius.
Step 5: Roll the dough
Punch the air out of the dough. Sprinkle the work space with flour and place the dough on it. Sprinkle the dough with some flour. Now roll out the dough to a 1/2 cm thickness, making sure there is enough flour to prevent it from sticking to the table.
Step 6: Shape the rolls
You can now spread the filling on the dough. Carefully roll the dough into a log and cut it into slices of about 3 cm in thickness. Place them on the lined baking tray, leaving enough space for the rolls to rise. Allow them to rise for 15-20 minutes.
Step 7: Wash and bake
Take your egg wash and using your brush, paint each roll individually. Put the tray into the oven and let them bake for 12-15 minutes.
Step 8: Cool and serve
Remove the tray from the oven and let the rolls cool a bit. Your Cinnamon Rolls are now ready to serve. They can be eaten cold but they taste especially good warm.
Buttermilk Pancake
1. In a large bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar.
2. In a separate bowl whisk together the egg, buttermilk, and melted butter. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture, all at once, and stir or whisk just until combined. The batter should have some small lumps. Make sure you do not over mix the batter or the pancakes will be tough.
3. Heat a frying pan or griddle over medium high heat until a few sprinkles of water dropped on the pan or griddle splatter. Using a pastry brush, brush the pan with a little melted butter.
4.Using a small ladle or scoop, pour about 1/4 cup of pancake batter onto the pan, spacing the pancakes a few inches from each other. When the bottoms of the pancakes are brown and bubbles start to appear on the top surfaces of the pancakes (2-3 minutes), turn over. Cook until lightly browned (about 1-2 minutes).

Mexican Scrambled Egg
This time I tried her Mexican scrambled egg....or I think I better call it Turkish scrambled egg because instead of using tortilla as in Nigella´s recipe, I used dürum. Dürum is a flat bread originates from Turkey and available in most Turkish groceries stores. It´s very much alike tortillas. If tortilla is used for making burito, dürum is used to make döner, just very much the same like burito, I guess.
Ingredients:
- 1 piece of tortilla/dürum
- 3 eggs
- a bit of spring onion (minced)
- 1 tomato (seeded and cut into small pieces)
- capsicum (cut into small piece)
- salt
-butter
Method:
1. Roll up the tortilla. Cut into portions of 1cm lengtfh.
2. Heat up some oil in a pan. Stir in the tortilla. Fry until golden-brown. Put aside.
3. Beat the eggs in a bowl. Add the spring onion, tomato, capsicum and salt.
4.Heat up some butter in a pan. Pour in the egg mixture and stir continuously to make scramble egg.
5. Toss in the fried tortilla.
6. Ready to serve.
